If you choose to register or log in using third-party social accounts (such as Facebook or Google), we collect the profile information permitted by that service to authenticate your identity.
📍 Usage & Location Data (Proximity Privacy)
To provide core features of GlooIt, we reference public venue locations (such as cafes, courts, or parks) rather than broadcasting your exact home GPS coordinates. Your location data is used strictly for meetup context and is never permanently stored or shared improperly.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Create and manage your account and secure your authentication.
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the GlooIt application and its core features.
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our application and user experience.
  • Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, for customer service, updates, and other services relating to the app.
  • Enforce our Safety & Guidelines and prevent fraudulent activities.

3 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We respect your privacy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third-party advertisers. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We may disclose your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information where required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4 Granular Profile Visibility & Controls

GlooIt gives you complete control over how your profile and activities are viewed by others. Through your Profile Privacy settings, you can choose between Public, Semi-Private, or Private visibility modes at any time.

Instant Visibility Toggle: In the GlooIt app, navigate to Profile > Settings > Profile Privacy to adjust your visibility preferences instantly. Your choice applies immediately across all meetup listings and discovery feeds.

5 Data Security & User Rights (Right to Complete Erasure)

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information.

Right to Complete Erasure: You retain full ownership of your data. You have the right to delete your account and wipe all associated data (including meetups, messages, and hosted history) at any point directly within the app, resulting in instant and permanent deletion from our active databases.

Meta / Facebook Compliant User Data Deletion Instructions:
In compliance with Meta Developer Policies and GDPR / DPDP regulations, users who authenticated via Facebook or mobile login can delete their data using any of the following methods:

Method A: In-App Self-Service Deletion (Instant)

  1. Open the GlooIt app and navigate to your Profile tab.
  2. Tap the Settings (Gear) icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Delete Account Permanently under the Account section.
  4. Confirm the dialog. Your profile, authentication credentials, hosted meetups, messages, and associated records are deleted immediately and permanently.

Method B: Facebook Platform App Removal

  1. Go to your Facebook account's Settings & Privacy > Settings.
  2. Click on Apps and Websites and find GlooIt.
  3. Click Remove to revoke all permissions and trigger the automated data deletion request.

Method C: Email Erasure Request

  1. Send an email to support@glooit.app with the subject "Data Deletion Request" from your registered email address.
  2. We will process and verify your request within 48 business hours.

6 Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

7 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the 'Effective Date.'
